The remnants of three hurricanes moved through the state of Michigan during the first half of September 2008: Gustav from the Atlantic on the 4th, Lowell from the eastern Pacific on the 12th and 13th, and Ike from the Atlantic on the 14th.  Anywhere from 7 to 11 inches of rain fell on the Kalamazoo area between Friday, September 12 and Sunday, September 14.  Storms of this magnitude are rare in Michigan.  This gallery contains 32 photos on 7 pages highlighting the flooding that occurred in Kalamazoo, Michigan.  The floodwaters cut off all direct access from the south into downtown Kalamazoo.
