Except for the last picture, these photos were taken during my second trip to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan during the last week April in 2014. Some snow remained, and Lake Superior was still frozen.

Buds are starting to appear on this tree that is still surrounded by a snow bank. Spring is coming, but winter still hangs on.
