I traveled to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan twice during April of 2014, first during the early part of the month. The snow was beginning to melt, although Lake Michigan was frozen over. The images on this page were all taken along Route 2 between St. Ignace and Escanaba. Route 2 follows the Lake Michigan shoreline between the two cities.

Most of the snow had already melted when I arrived in Escanaba. This very large snow pile remained.

There was an area just west of St. Ignace where the snow was still very deep.
