This page highlights four academic papers that were co-authored with other researchers. These papers appeared in peer-reviewed scholarly journals. Themes include an analysis of 24-hour precipitation patterns at a station in southwest Michigan, an analysis of two inquiry-based teaching modules in a college-level physical geography class, an analysis of barriers to collecting student participation and completion data for a national STEM education grant program, and an assessment of the prior knowledge of students using an instrument known as the Geoscience Concept Inventory. A few of my unpublished papers are also linked below, all of which were written several years ago when I was a graduate student. A link to my doctoral dissertation can also be found here.

The first four are links to peer-reviewed articles that I have co-authored with other researchers:

Barriers to Collecting Student Participation and Completion Data for a National STEM Education Grant Program in the United States: A Multiple Case Study

Using a Classroom Observation Instrument to Analyze Content and Inquiry in Physical Geography

Geoscience Conceptual Knowledge of Preservice Elementary Teachers: Results from the Geoscience Concept Inventory

Time Series Analysis of Hourly Precipitation in Southwest Michigan

The next three are links to unpublished papers I wrote when I was a PhD student:

The 1988 Forest Fires of Yellowstone National Park

A Lesson on the Arbitrary Nature of Thermometer Scales Using the Historical Case of the Creation of the Fahrenheit Temperature Scale

A General Overview of Conceptual Change Research

This is a remote sensing project I participated in with three graduate students while I was working on my master's degree:

Thermal-Infrared Radiative Effects of Various Urban Materials Upon Vegetation

News Articles in Which My Comments Have Appeared

And one more link to my doctoral dissertation!

Analyzing the Effect of Inquiry-Based Instruction on the Learning of Atmospheric Science Among Pre-Service Education Students
