Weather Gallery, Page 5: Thunderstorm at Devil's Tower National Monument

          The following photos were taken while a thunderstorm passed near Devil's Tower National Monument in the state of Wyoming during May of 1999. A portion of Devil's Tower can be seen in the far lower left corner of the first photo. A short streak of lightning can also be seen above the road in the middle of the first photo. If you have difficulty spotting the lightning streak, look at the second photo where I have blown up the area where the lightning is. The third photo is of the same thunderstorm several minutes later as the sun was setting in the western horizon. The last picture was taken by Matt Siebert, a friend of mine, and is a picture of the same thunderstorm a few seconds before I took the first photo.
