I was first exposed to the music of Bob Riley & the Fishers during the early 1990s while I was the dj for a Christian alternative rock radio program. My show--known as Beat Peculiar--was on the now non-existent WBYW-FM, an eclectic and international radio station out of Grand Rapids, Michigan. I was known for playing various off-beat, underground, and non-commercial Christian rock artists who were commitment to art and creativity in their music, and Bob Riley & the Fishers was the perfect fit. Much of their music involves putting Bible passages to various styles of music including rock, reggae, and country.
